At one time or another every business has wondered how they could implement a mobile data collection solution with handheld scanners to reduce the effort and increase the accuracy of managing inventory and assets. Whether this need was driven by a need to replace a labor intensive manual process involving paper and pencil, or error prone and clumsy spreadsheets, a better solution is needed.

That solution is ABC Scan .Net!

Built on the foundation of Microsoft’s industry standard Office suite, ABC Scan Inventory Management Software was designed to enable efficient mobile data collection for a wide range of business applications in a simple and familiar user interface. Great care was taken to ensure all aspects of the program are easy to understand and implement for any level of computer user.

Any current process that involves a manual or paper component can be improved using the combination of ABC Scan .Net and a mobile data collection device. Using this program your mobile workforce will be able to harness the convenience and accuracy of a handheld barcode scanner to perform physical inventories, cycle counts, track assets and more. ABC Scan .Net also offers great flexibility both from a hardware perspective, with the wide variety of handheld scanner manufacturers that are supported, and from a software perspective due to its user configurable nature.

In addition, ABC Scan .Net is available in a variety of modes supporting the needs of all levels of users. For the entry level user that only needs to run the system on a single PC, there is the Access version which installs a local database and requires only a single machine running Windows XP.

In situations where multiple users need access to the data from multiple locations, there is the SQL Server version which has the ability to separate the management interface from the back-end data store. In this situation, the user interface can be installed on up to three separate workstations (with a single license purchase) with the database residing on one of those three or a separate Database Server somewhere on the network.

For enterprise level cases, where there are many users needing access to the data across very distributed areas, there is the Web enabled version. In this case, with a single license purchase an unlimited number of web users can access, view and edit the data stored on a centralized server.

In each case, ABC Scan .Net Inventory Management Software also has the ability to operate in a batch mode where data collected throughout the day on the handhelds is synchronized with the database through a USB docking station, or in real-time wireless mode where all information is transmitted wirelessly in real-time back and forth to the database.

Main Menu

The main menu of the program is where everything in ABC Scan .Net begins.  All functionality of the program is either accessed or enabled from this one starting point.

Databases

From this form you will be able to work with the data collected on the handheld scanning device including viewing, editing, importing, exporting, and printing barcodes and reports.

The powerful filtering and sorting features native to Access are available in this interface.

Handheld Devices

With a simple layout and large buttons, the mobile interface is easy to use. Many options for how the handheld operates are configurable by the end-user including whether employees must sign in before using the application.

Web Interface

The optional web interface allows an unlimited number of users to log in and access the centralized data store. User access to the site is managed through an administration page and allows the end user to customize which areas of the data each employee has access to.
